Noel Stevenson's Art Gallery

Noel's passion for watercolour has been with her since childhood. She has held several successful exhibitions in her own galleries – Gallery 21 in Templestowe, Melbourne; Willowbank Gallery & Art Centre, Taggerty, and at her home in Alexandra. She begins her paintings with saturated quality paper and wet, flooding, classic washes until the design and composition combine in contours and features highlighting the amazing light and atmospheric elements of the subject.

Overseas and interstate travels have broadened her concept of art but her abiding interest is the varying characteristics of the Australian landscape from coastal beach scenes to magnificent rivers and mountain scenery. A visit to the Greek Islands produced many fascinating insights into intimate doorways and pots.

On two occasions her paintings have featured in an Asian Pacific Watercolour Exhibition publication.

She has undertaken quite a few demonstrations and watercolour classes but her main interests are watercolours and her consuming love of the clarinet and piano. All three are artistic expressions in her portfolio of art. They are emotive, challenging, inspiring and provide beauty for the soul.
